Maria is a board certified music therapist and yoga instructor born in Syracuse, New York and raised throughout the US. Maria grew up in places including Chicago (IL), Irvine (CA), Manhattan (NY), and Orlando (FL). They received their BA in Music Therapy with a double minor in Psychology & Dance from the University of Miami, Florida. During 2023, Maria completed their clinical internship from the Creative Arts Therapies of the Palm Beaches, where they had the opportunity to learn from Bree Gordon (MT-BC) and many other incredible professionals. They have worked with a variety of populations including children and adults in hospital settings, with neuro developmental disabilities, along with adults & older adults in rehabilitation centers, neurologists rehabilitation, oncology hospitals, and a Community based Parkinson’s choir.
They love to share music with people of all ages and abilities. They especially love to use music as it allows people to connect in fun and creative ways! Maria had a focus on Classical voice in her undergraduate career, she also has experience through lessons, solo, & ensemble work in contemporary/musical theater/jazz voice, guitar, piano, ukulele, and various percussion instruments. They began their love of music through piano lessons from the age of 6, and mostly within theater and choir through her many schools. Maria cannot wait to be invited to the next jam!
