We ended 2022 and rang in the new year on a family trip with friends!

A local photographer where we stayed, Manuel Reyes, took these amazing pics! Highly recommend doing a family photoshoot when on vacation. As parents, we work so hard to plan and pay for a trip for our families… getting professional pics definitely helps to hold on to those memories for a lifetime.

I love spending this time of year in a new place, with the people I love most, to truly reflect and set intentions from a place of happiness. So much of life is busy, go, go, go energy – that I cherish the change to relax and take a step back from the day-to-day.

Every year we travel over the New Years with our best friends from NYC. It has been a tradition of ours for the past three years with kids, though before we had kids, we travelled with just us adults (oh those were the days!!!) It’s one of my favorite weeks of the year- complete relaxation (minus the nagging children time to time), watching our kids play with each other, great food, and lots of sun time. Our kids are all the same age, which makes it easier for us to relax since everyone has a playmate!

Our New Years Eve Dance Party and Countdown was my favorite memory! We all got dressed up and had a very special dinner with the kids, set up lots of decorations, party hats and glasses to ring in the new year. After dinner, we had a dance party in the living room to all of our favorite tunes and even threw a horah in at the end right before we did a “kids countdown” that I found quickly on YouTube!

I’ve decided that 2022 was the year of ‘a beautiful mess.’

I think life maybe always feels like that. Especially with young kids!

With each year, I embrace the mess more and more. I’m realizing that this is what our normal is. We’re not ever striving for perfection. We just accept the chaos, find as many moments as we can to laugh, and let it go! (Let it gooooo…! Okay, had to!)

I’m learning to ask myself, “How important is it?”

Usually whatever it is that’s bothering us in that moment, it’s not that important and can be released.
In 2023 I aim to get better at that, so I can move on living my beautiful messy life, and enjoy it as much as possible!
